CA Janitorial Watchdog Group Announces New Executive Director

The Maintenance Cooperation Trust Fund Names Chloe Osmer As The Newest Executive Director To Empower and Protect Workers In the Janitorial Industry

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today the Maintenance Cooperation Trust Fund (MCTF) welcomed Deputy Director of Field Operations Chloe Osmer into her new role as Executive Director and announced that Yardenna Aaron will return to her role as Research Director after six years at the helm of the statewide janitorial watchdog organization.

As MCTF’s new Executive Director, Chloe Osmer brings over twenty years of experience in the labor movement empowering both union and non-union workers’ rights and is expertly positioned to lead one of the most formidable and effective watchdog organizations in California.

Prior to joining MCTF, Chloe Osmer worked as Organizing Director for the California Labor Federation, where she trained hundreds of union and community members on workplace organizing. In addition to her extensive strategic campaigning experience, Chloe Osmer also served as Senior Advisor to the California Labor Commissioner, where she assisted with the creation and implementation of enforcement plans for new labor laws.

“I am honored to continue the next stage of leadership at MCTF and work with such a talented team of investigators and staff to expose the underground economy and advocate for janitorial workers,” said Osmer. “For over twenty five years, MCTF has made its mark by bringing justice for janitors who have suffered wage theft and abusive working conditions. Now more than ever we are committed to empowering workers to know their rights, investigating unlawful business practices, and working with state labor agencies and stakeholders to hold law-breaking employers accountable.”

MCTF Board Member Mark Sharwood thanked Yardenna Aaron for her contributions as Executive Director especially when janitors confronted COVID-related challenges, and needed essential and sustainable protections in the field:

“We want to thank Yardenna Aaron for six years of executive leadership. In her role she expanded MCTF’s capacity to support responsible contractor policies, doubling the number of staff and field investigators, and making it possible to document and combat wage theft, sexual assault, meal and rest break violations that persist in the janitorial industry.”
